Dr. Vaibhav V. Patel attended medical school at the University of Ibadan Medical School, graduating with his BS in 1983 and his MD in 1989. Following medical school, Dr. Patel did his internship in internal medicine at State Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria, followed by his residency in internal medicine at Seton Hall University from 1991-1994. Dr. Patel conducted his fellowship in cardiology at Seton Hall University, St. Michael Medical Center, and concluded that work in 1997.

Dr. Patel has worked as a cardiologist at the Cardiovascular Clinic in New Port Richey, Florida. He was a partner with the South Carolina Heart Center from 1998 to 2007.

In 2007 Dr. Patel and his family moved to Columbus, Georgia, where he joined Southeastern Cardiology in the fall of 2007. Dr. Patel's warmth, experience and professionalism make him a sought-after cardiologist in the Columbus area.
